Creighton Digital Storytellers is a product of the Online Storytelling class in the Department of Computer Science, Design & Journalism at Creighton University.
Under the direction of Creighton associate professor of journalism Rich Johnson, Online Storytelling is taught each Spring semester with students teaming together to tackle community issues through the lens of in-depth storytelling, podcasting and mobile video.
For the 2021 Spring semester, students in the course will examine a variety of topics, including untold stories of the people of Creighton University, how the COVID pandemic has changed the lives of CU students, the experiences of international students and issues faced by the Omaha theater community.
In 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic, students tackled a range of issues including motivations for volunteer work, transportation throughout the Omaha metropolitan are, experiences of college public safety officers at, the challenges that out-of-state students face in transitioning to life in Nebraska and the top hot spots for college students to explore.
